Fitness Week & More...







Trey Clark won the President's Parking Spot, and is enjoying being able to park there!

We raised over $400 for United Way with the Parking Spot Raffle.

Thank you to everyone who donated!








We are having a "Get Fit Movement" throughout the week... Come and join us!

Wednesday 11/6 - Evening fitness class in Rec center

Thursday 11/7 - "Thirsty Thursday" water giveaway with health & wellness quiz all day in the Student Union

Friday 11/8 - Field Day in the Quad, all day with various outdoor activities & games








During our "Get Fit Movement" we are headed towards a goal of 1000 push-ups !!!

As of 11/4 we have accumulated 373 !

Come and contribute to our goal!














We have a Free CPR Class which will be American Heart Association Certified coming up this Saturday, the 9th!

President's Dinner

ALL EVENTS UPDATED

We are raffling off the SGA President’s Parking Spot from now until November 1st. Come to the Union to purchase tickets! 

Proceeds go to United Way.

The winner will get to park in the spot for the whole month of November!

Humans Vs. Zombies is coming up!
It will be played across campus from October 28th - November 1st.

The Nicholls International Community will be hosting their 6th Annual International Banquet on November 10th.

Phase III issued for Tropical Storm Karen




With the continuing approach of Tropical Storm Karen, the Nicholls Emergency Preparedness Committee has initiated a Phase III alert in accordance with the university’s Hurricane Emergency Plan, posted at emergency.nicholls.edu. The Committee will continue to monitor the status of the storm and will take additional action if necessary. Nicholls remains open and classes have not been canceled at this time. University employees are asked to refer to the Phase III information in the Hurricane Emergency Plan and enact the procedures established for your department. Updates will be posted on nicholls.edu or available on the Nicholls alert hotline at 1-877-NICHOLLS.






FYI—The women’s volleyball home match, originally scheduled for Saturday afternoon in Thibodaux, has been rescheduled on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 6:30 p.m.

Tropical Storm Karen & Open Position for Treasurer

It's September !



September has begun and school is in full swing.

Our first September meeting is on the 9th located @ the Multi-Purpose Room on the 3rd floor of the library. The General Meeting begins at 4pm.

Events Coming Up:


Voting beings at 12:00 noon on Sunday September 8th.


Voting ends at 11:59 a.m. on Wednesday September 11th.

Election Results will be announced on Wednesday September 11th at 2:00pm @ the front of the student union.


Here is what's on the Ballot:


Student Government Amendment No. 1



To amend Article III, The Legislative Branch, Section 2 Composition to include the Veterans population and Graduate students to read as follows: “No. 1 Representatives from each college, from the Veterans Affairs and from Graduate Studies according to the number of fee-paying students…”


This amendment will create two new Senator positions, one to represent Veterans and another to represent Graduate Students.


Student Government Amendment No. 2



To amend Article III, The Legislative Branch, Section 3 Powers and Duties, Number 1, Letter D, Number 1) of the constitution as follows: “Table automatically until the following regular meeting, fiscal legislation exceeding $500 with the exception of the budget as dictated by item B of this section. This rule may be waived by 2/3 vote of those Senators present and voting”.


This amendment will change the fiscal legislation amount from $200 to $500 for motions to be automatically tabled until the following regular meeting.

3 Days Down, Rest of the Semester to Go

Hope your first few days went well & are ready for the new week!

This week we have our first meeting on Monday, August 26th.
Our General Meeting begins at 4pm!
It will be located in the Multi-Purpose Room on the 3rd floor of the Library.

Also this week is Welcome Back Day!
It will be located in the Quad from 10:30am - 2:00pm

SGA is facilitating a Quad Bench Project with other student organizations on campus. Vice President Adam Lefort and Senator Richard Grabert cleaned the benches today to prepare them for painting!

Still Under Construction... But Here is an Update !

While the blog is getting it's final touches. Here are some updates!

We will be at Move-In Day on August 17th, find our table!

Our last summer meeting will be on August 19th in the Multi-Purpose Room of the Library (located on the 3rd floor).
The committee meetings will begin at 1pm & our general meeting begins & 3pm.

The Fall Semester Classes begin August 21st & our first meeting of the semester will be on August 26th in the Multi-Purpose Room (see above location).
